Privacy Policy for The Glitch Fixer

Effective date: October 11, 2026

The Glitch Fixer (https://theglitchfixer.blogspot.com/) is a technology troubleshooting blog publishing fix guides for apps, games, and tech errors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It covers our website, our official Pinterest presence and Pinterest API integration, and our official Facebook Page.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Website visitors

  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the blog. This collects anonymized information such as pages viewed, time spent, device type, browser type, and approximate geographic region. IP addresses are anonymized by Google before storage.
  • Comments: If you leave a comment, Blogger stores the name you provide, your comment text, and the timestamp. Comments are moderated before appearing publicly.
  • Cookies: Blogger and Google set cookies to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure traffic. Google may use advertising cookies if Google AdSense is enabled in the future.
  • Contact: If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and message content solely to respond to your inquiry.

1.2 Pinterest API integration

We operate an official Pinterest Business account for The Glitch Fixer and use the Pinterest API (v5) to automate publishing of our own blog content as Pins. Through the Pinterest API, with the account owner's explicit OAuth authorization, we access only data belonging to our own Pinterest Business account: account profile information (user_accounts:read scope), our boards list (boards:read scope), and our existing Pins (pins:read scope).

We use write permissions (pins:write, boards:write) solely to create Pins linking to our own blog articles and to organize our own boards. We request only the minimum scopes required for this purpose.

What we do NOT do: We do not scrape Pinterest, collect data about other Pinterest users, access private information of third parties, or perform bulk or spam actions. The integration operates exclusively on our own account and content.

Credential security: Pinterest App credentials (App ID, App Secret) and OAuth access tokens are stored securely as server-side secrets, never exposed in client-side code, never published publicly, and never shared with third parties. Tokens are refreshed according to Pinterest's OAuth flow.

1.3 Facebook Page

We operate an official Facebook Page for The Glitch Fixer. We do not collect personal data through the Page beyond what Facebook provides in aggregate Page Insights (e.g., follower counts, post reach). Any messages sent to the Page are used only to respond.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the blog and its content.
  • To publish our own articles as Pins on our own Pinterest account and measure their performance.
  • To respond to comments and contact inquiries.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties except service providers necessary to operate the site (Google/Blogger hosting and analytics, Pinterest API for our own account automation), each bound by their own privacy terms.

3. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings. Comments remain published until removed by the commenter or us. Pinterest API tokens are retained only while the integration is active and are revoked if the integration is discontinued. Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the inquiry.

4. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you (such as your comments or contact emails) by emailing us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using Google's opt-out browser add-on, and control cookies through your browser settings.

5. Children's Privacy

The Glitch Fixer publishes general technology troubleshooting content and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Third-Party Links

Our articles and Pins link to third-party websites and app stores. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites; we encourage you to review their policies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices change (for example, when enabling advertising). The current version will always be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
